When yellow means courage: the link between endurance cycling and enduring cancerby Craig Weatherby
We have tremendous respect for Lance Armstrong's twin triumphs: over cancer, and over his rivals on the grueling Tour de France race course. His seven serial sweeps of this brutally rigorous bike race (a team victory) would be amazing enough, but Lance had to win a mortal battle with cancer to remain a contender.
He's now won the prized yellow jersey more times than any Tour racer in history. It seems fitting that Lance chose the sunny hue of the winners' shirt to symbolize his unique effort to bolster the spirits and prognoses of embattled cancer patients.
Lance is a legitimate champion in a world where there seem to be so few. He epitomizes integrity and inner strength, as evidenced by three admirable accomplishments:
- Conquered an aggressive cancer
- Displayed steadfast devotion to his goals
- Uses his fame to help fellow cancer patients
The Vital Choice / Live Strong program
Vital Choice wishes to celebrate and honor Lance and help further his cancer-fighting goals by supporting the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF). Here's how our Vital Choice / Live Strong program works:
- For a limited time, we will donate one dollar to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for each order, at no charge to you.
- You can request a free yellow “Live Strong” wrist band with each order.
- You can donate to the LAF by purchasing additional bands for $1 each.
Because researchers consider berries and omega-3-rich fish top anti-cancer foods, you'll be doing yourself and your family a preventive favor with every order.
