Pink Oregon Shrimp — sparkling, pure, and sustainable
Ninety percent of shrimp eaten in this country are farm-raised, most from countries where environmental standards are less stringent.
The State of Oregon limits shrimp permits, closes the season during the stock's reproductive period, and requires use of "by-catch" reduction devices.
These practices led the Marine Stewardship Council to certify the Oregon Pink Shrimp fishery as fully sustainable.

"Tasty" Review: Very good tasting shrimp fresh and sweet. Tastes good thawed or cooked with garlic and olive oil.
"Fantastic small shrimp!" Review: For reasons I’ve never understood, these wonderful little shrimp can be found everywhere in Oregon but nowhere at all on the east coast. I was delighted to learn that VitalChoice has them for sale. They arrived quickly, packed in 2 lb. zip-lock pouches, kept frozen by two big blocks of dry ice (shipping was free because I ordered three bags) and they’re fabulous—such great flavor, such convenience! If I’d been able to find them in a fishmarket in New York they no doubt would have cost more and been less flavorful. Thank you, VitalChoice! I’ll be ordering more.
"Very small, but excellent in recipes" Review: These are very small and not something you would use in shrimp scampi or shrimp de jonghe, but they are excellent for use in an Alfredo sauce over noodles, to add to risotto rice, or for addition to other recipes.

Keep frozen at or below 0° F (-18° C). Held under these conditions the Oregon Pink Shrimp should retain their quality for at least six to 12 months. Shellfish and lean white fish (halibut, cod) generally have a longer freezer life than fatty fish (salmon, tuna, sablefish).
NOTE: Seafood stored in frost-free freezers should be used within 3 months.
Thaw under refrigeration at or below 38 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius). Before thawing, puncture or remove packaging.
For quick-thawing, place frozen package in cool water for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, just until contents are flexible. Once thawed, immediately cook or refrigerate (if refrigerating, puncture package). Prior to cooking, do not allow fish to reach temperatures above 38 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius).
